Terms & Conditions of Use

ECAS provides electrical calculation utilities (including cable sizing, voltage drop, conduit sizing, cable tray sizing and power factor correction) intended as an aid to qualified electrical professionals. The Tool performs calculations based on data and methods derived from published standards but is an independent product and is not endorsed by, affiliated with, or certified by any standards body.

The outputs of the Tool are indicative only and do not constitute professional, engineering, or design advice. They are not a substitute for the exercise of professional judgement by a suitably qualified and licensed person, nor for reference to the applicable standards, codes and regulations (including, without limitation, AS/NZS 3008 and AS/NZS 3000).

You are solely responsible for:

• the accuracy and appropriateness of all data you enter;
• independently verifying all results before relying on or acting upon them;
• ensuring any design or installation complies with all applicable standards, codes, laws and regulations; and
• obtaining appropriate professional review where required.

The Tool is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Tool will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that results will meet your requirements.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator of ECAS and its contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill or other losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Tool or any reliance on its outputs — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. You assume all risk associated with use of the Tool. Nothing in these terms excludes any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Calculations and projects are stored locally in your web browser. We do not store your project data on our servers. Clearing your browser data, or using a different device or browser, will remove access to that data. You are responsible for saving and backing up your work (e.g. using the Save Project feature). We are not responsible for any loss of data.

The Tool, its design, code and content are the property of the operator of ECAS and are protected by applicable laws. Referenced standards remain the copyright of their respective owners (e.g. Standards Australia); the Tool does not reproduce those standards.

The Tool is currently provided free of charge. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Tool, and may update these Terms, at any time without notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction.
